Take a blank worksheet with you
Bring with you.
- The agreed sample brief and references
- Representative garments and artwork
- One dated list of observations and requested changes
01 · Sample review
Agree on what you are reviewing
Identify the sample and the version of the brief it represents. Make clear which details are final proposals and which are still exploratory. A visual review alone does not establish an agreed specification.
- Record the sample reference, date and brief version.
- Keep the intended dimensions, material and finish references nearby.
- List any features that are not represented by this sample.
02 · Sample review
Check the intended garment and space
Try the sample with the garment it is intended to support. Observe the shoulder, neckline, straps or waistband as relevant, and compare the hanging arrangement with your wardrobe or display space.
- Compare the dimensions with the agreed brief.
- Note how the garment sits and where it contacts the hanger.
- Record any changes needed to the shape, grip, bar, clips or hook clearance.
03 · Sample review
Compare the surface and hardware
Review the appearance against the agreed reference, and record what you observe rather than assuming a pictured color or texture is the final requirement. Ask the project partner to clarify any unresolved material or performance question.
- Label the finish/color reference used for comparison.
- Inspect visible edges, contact surfaces and hardware details.
- Agree on any additional checks or evidence needed for the intended use.
04 · Sample review
Review artwork and presentation together
Check the logo, artwork position and packaging as part of one presentation. If packaging is not included in the sample, keep that item open instead of treating the product sample as approval of the complete delivery.
- Compare logo size, position and artwork version.
- Review packaging, labels and assortment identification where supplied.
- Record missing presentation items that still require a separate review.
05 · Sample review
Close the loop with a written record
Group observations into accepted details, requested revisions and questions awaiting an answer. If a revision is needed, agree on how it will be shown and reviewed before the project moves ahead.
- Keep photos and notes tied to the sample reference.
- Write the requested change precisely.
- Confirm the revised specification and approval status with the project partner.
